Michelle Fanning came to our school on Friday the 13th of October and did a Play Workshop with the first class children and their parents. Super Valu also came in to promote healthy eating and brought in exotic fruit and vegetables for the children. The children got to sample some fruits and vegetables after the workshop.

Mr Stink
The following is a Book Trailer for the story Mr. Stink by David Williams. It was completed as part of our TSI lessons over the last few months in 5th and 6th class. Transactional Strategy Instruction is approach to literacy that we have been using for the last four years. The children love it and it has helped them in becoming competent independent readers.

RIP Fr Heerey
On Thursday last, we found out the sad news that a very special member of our school community had passed away. Fr Heerey died after a short illness. He had served on the Board of Management of St. Patrick's BNS for many years and worked very hard for the parish of Ballinamore and Aughnasheelin. Fr Heerey cared a great deal about the pupils and staff of the school and was part of the furniture before his move. He kept up with the news and visited us earlier in the school year. The children, who remember him well, made a lovely book of poems in his memory. Click on the pictures below to read the poem.
