Thanks to the children, parents, servers and the choir for all they did in the run-up to the big day. It was a great celebration and we are very proud of all the pupils involved.

Letter from the Parents' Association:
The Parents' Association need your help.
We are hoping to hold our Annual Sponsored Cycle on Friday June 16th along the Golf Links Road to the Golf Cliub. This is our main fundraiser which pays for the Swimming, Buses and other activities throughout the year e.g. Pancake day, talks, other activities...
This is usually followed by a Summer BBQ in the Senior School Yard after the Annual Cycle.
In order that this event can take place we NEED PARENTS TO HELP SUPERVISE, TO HELP DIRECT TRAFFIC, TO CYCLE WITH CHILDREN, TO HELP WITH BBQ ...
Can you please indicate your willingness to help from 11.45- 2.00pm approx. on Friday June 16th?
Sign form and return with your phone number- these have been/ will be sent home with your children.
Or let teachers know in homework notebook.

RIP Fr Heerey

On Thursday last, we found out the sad news that a very special member of our school community had passed away. Fr Heerey died after a short illness. He had served on the Board of Management of St. Patrick's BNS for many years and worked very hard for the parish of Ballinamore and Aughnasheelin. Fr Heerey cared a great deal about the pupils and staff of the school and was part of the furniture before his move. He kept up with the news and visited us earlier in the school year. The children, who remember him well, made a lovely book of poems in his memory. Click on the pictures below to read the poem.

Healthy Eating Awareness Week

Healthy Eating Awareness week was held in our school from 3rd- 7th April and was a great success. Everyone got the opportunity to taste a wide variety of fruits for Try-it Tuesday and Fruity Friday. Some classes also made smoothies, fruit and vegetable juices and fruit skewers during the week. We also learned about the New Food Pyramid and how to read food labels.  Well done to everyone for participating!
